About

Faith in Action Fund empowers communities of faith to build power, hold elected officials accountable, and advance social justice. We focus on closing racial and generational gaps in voter participation, expanding access to the ballot by challenging restrictive voting laws, and centering people of color in voter engagement.

Our mission is to:

  • Help people of faith in states and cities organize and develop their power to hold elected officials accountable as they represent their constituents’ common good.
  • Close the race and age gap in voting participation rates.
  • Expand access to the ballot box by fighting restrictive voting laws, such as Voter ID laws.
  • Reimagine how voter engagement works through our strategy, Flipping the Formula — centering people of color so that every person has the right to vote and every vote carries equal power.

We are deeply committed to building power in communities of color, driving systemic change in our electoral system, and holding elected officials accountable to the communities they serve. Our work spans voter engagement, narrative change, and advocacy on gubernatorial, congressional, sheriff, and prosecutorial races, as well as the immigration and criminal justice policies that shape our communities. Founded in 2012, we are a 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to eliminating poverty, promoting civic participation, and increasing economic opportunity across the U.S.

Our Connection to Faith in Action

Faith in Action Fund is the political action arm of Faith in Action, a national network of faith-based community organizations. While Faith in Action operates as a 501(c)(3) focused on organizing, leadership development, and building multi-racial people-powered institutions, the Fund exists as a separate 501(c)(4) to support electoral engagement and advocacy work. Together, we share a belief that organizing is the most powerful tool we have for creating a society rooted in equity, sustainability, and justice — and that people of faith have a unique role to play in that movement.
